I went to the Sapporo White Illumination at Odori Park.
It is the biggest Christmas event in Sapporo city.

Area1：Wish Birth
Area1(Odori Park 1-chome) is a Photography spot.
There is a big Christmas tree in front of the Sapporo Television Tower.
Many people took their selfies there.
Area2：Sapporo Munichen Christmas Market
Area 2(Odori 2-chome) is a Munichen Christmas Market.
There are many shops which sells Christmas ornament, glass ornaments, candles, and food.
Sapporo City and Munchen Germany are sister cities, so some shops sell German dishes and beer.
This white illumination is also a photography place.
The object name is “Gift of Snow”.
All of small houses are incense stands.
Glass shop.
There are many glass ornaments like a snowman, Christmas tree and accessory.
This shop opens in Otaru City where is next to Sapporo City.
Otaru City is famous for the glass art.
Snow domes were made in Austria.
All of the ornaments are different, one is Santa Claus, another is a big wheel, and the other is mushrooms, frogs, small Statue of Liberty.
A Santa Claus is in the biggest snowdome.
This shop sells many kinds of Matryoshka every year.
I found a cute matryoshka, the face is similar to the people who appear in the “Yomawarineko(Night Patrol Cats)” which is a Japanese manga written by Kaoru Fukaya.
A dragon or a snake matryoshka.
Japanese zodiac has a dragon and a snake.
Japanese zodiac is the dragon in 2024.
A candle shop. Candles bright LED light.
Roasted Almond.
It is the most popular sweets of the Christmas Market every year.
The shop sells four flavours and sizes, the largest one is ¥3000.
Many people lined to buy it.
Sausage shop.
The shop makes and sells sausage made from venison and some hot food like fried potatoes, and hot chocolate drinks.
Area3：Winter Blossoms
This area exhibition is a flower illumination which is a lilac and a lily of the valley, both are the symbol flowers of Sapporo city.
A few years ago, the flower was the snowflake.
We can see the changing the colour – purple, red, yellow, orange and blue.
I like blue illumination.
People long lined to take their selfies with this illumination and the Sapporo television tower here too.
Area4：Snow fantasia
The-4-chome is a while and green illumination.
Many people walked in the white tunnel.
Area5：Cosmic Square
Area5(5-chome area) illumination is blue.
This area does not have a big illumination and monuments.
We can see the Sapporo Television Tower from here.
Area6：Emerald Forest
Area 6 (6-chome area) illumination is green.
This theme is horses and forests every year.
We walked in a small and simple maze to the golden Christmas tree.
