The Sapporo Snow Festival is the biggest winter event in Hokkaido.
It is the biggest snow festival in the world. The other two are Canada and Hong Kong.
We see some projection mapping on big snow statues at night time.

Horse Racing Projection Mapping
A horse racing snow statue shows us projection mapping.
There are some horse farms in Hidaka Town and nearby towns, and also horse racing fields where are in Sapporo City, Hakodate City, and Obihiro City.
History of Sapporo City
This is the Hoheikan snow statue.
Hoheikan is at the Nakajima park in Sapporo City.
Sapporo City started in 1922. The Hoheikan was used as public hall.
Sapporo Television Tower was built at the Odori Park in 1957. It is a symbol of Sapporo City.
The Sapporo Snow Festival started in 1950.
High school students made some snow statues at Odori Park Area 1 was a cue for this festival.
It grew up to be the biggest and most famous winter event in Hokkaido.
Lightup snow statue
Some big snow statues and middle snow statues were simple light up.
This is “The Quintessential Quintuplets(Gotoubun no Hanayome)” snow statue.
My Hero Academia snow statue. it was simply light up.
Dinosaur snow statue. This is a big snow statue, but it did not show projection mapping.
Small Snow Statues
There are over 100 small snow statues.
They were made by citizens like high school students and workers.
Ania from “SPYxFAMILY”. She is dancing fox dance which is popular among baseball team “Hokkaido Nipponham Fighters” fans.
These snow statues were made by sculptors.
There are some sculptures in Sapporo city like the JR Sapporo Station and the Sapporo Art Forest.
Shohei Ohtani is famous baseball player.
He played baseball in the Hokkaido Nipponham Fighters baseball team.
He sent 60000 groves to all of the elementary schools in Japan.
A Christmas tree was still in front of the Sapporo Television Tower.
There is a small curling field near the tree during this festival.
